Now & Then is a platform dedicated to preserving memories and honoring loved ones with dignity and respect. To maintain a safe, trustworthy environment for all users, we have established the following content policies.

  • Supporting communities and organizations in their memorial efforts

Prohibited Content

The following types of content are strictly prohibited on Now & Then:

1. Child Safety Violations

  • Content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors
  • Any form of child abuse or exploitation material
  • Inappropriate or suggestive images of children

2. Sexual Content

  • Pornographic material or explicit sexual content
  • Sexually suggestive images or descriptions
  • Content intended for sexual gratification

3. Privacy Violations

  • Sharing private information without consent (doxxing)
  • Creating profiles for individuals without authorization
  • Posting private communications without permission
  • Violating family privacy wishes or memorial requests

4. Misleading or False Information

  • Deliberately false biographical information
  • Impersonation of deceased individuals or their families
  • Fabricated memories or testimonials
  • Fraudulent fundraising or solicitation

5. Hateful or Harmful Content

  • Hate speech targeting race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability
  • Harassment, bullying, or threats
  • Content promoting violence or self-harm
  • Defamatory or malicious content about deceased individuals

6. Illegal Activities

  • Content promoting or facilitating illegal activities
  • Copyright violations or unauthorized use of others' content
  • Sale of illegal goods or services

7. Spam and Commercial Exploitation

  • Unsolicited commercial advertising or promotion
  • Spam or repetitive content
  • Manipulative practices to gain attention or credits

Community & Organization Standards

Additional Standards: Communities and organizations using Now & Then may establish their own content standards and guidelines above and beyond our base policies. When participating in community pages or organization memorials, users must also comply with those specific standards.

Community administrators have the right to moderate content and remove material that violates their community's values, even if it doesn't violate our general policies.

Content Best Practices

We encourage users to:

  • Be truthful and accurate in all memorial content
  • Obtain family permission before creating public profiles
  • Respect cultural and religious memorial traditions
  • Focus on celebrating life and preserving positive memories
  • Consider the feelings of surviving family members
  • Use appropriate, dignified language and imagery
  • Respect copyright and intellectual property rights

Reporting Violations

If you encounter content that violates these policies, please report it immediately through our support system. We take all reports seriously and review them promptly.

Policy Enforcement

Review Process: All reported content is reviewed by our moderation team. We investigate each case individually and consider context when making decisions.

Consequences for Violations: Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, actions may include:

  • Content removal or editing requirements
  • Warning to the user
  • Temporary account suspension
  • Permanent account termination
  • Reporting to law enforcement (for illegal content)

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these policies, with or without prior warning, at our sole discretion.

Appeals

If you believe content was removed or your account was suspended in error, you may submit an appeal through our support system. Include specific information about why you believe the decision should be reconsidered.

Policy Updates

We may update this Content Policy from time to time to address new challenges or community needs. Continued use of Now & Then after policy updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policies.
